Want to get a foot in the door in the ever expanding music & festival industry? Want to work behind the scenes at some of the biggest festivals in the UK & Europe? Want to work alongside some of the most exciting and dynamic event professionals?

Join Eye Of The Storm Events for the opportunity to get involved! Our volunteer scheme is all about developing individuals in the areas they are most passionate about. Many of our staff started out as volunteers with us and have gone on to become part of our core team. Festivals we regularly work with include Boomtown, Detonate, El Dorado, Outlook, Dimensions & many more!

Key roles include:

Artist Liaison & Hospitality

Artist Liaison and Hospitality is vital to the smooth running of any festival. In this role, you will be working directly with the artists and tasks may include; guiding artists to and from accreditation to stages, ensuring hospitality riders are correct and in place in backstage/dressing room areas, hosting artists whilst they’re at their stages and working with Stage Management Teams to ensure the smooth running of their performances.

Stage Management & Production

In this role, you will be based at the stage with one of our experienced Stage Managers as well as the sound and lighting teams. As an assistant to the Stage Manager, you will help ensure technical riders are correct, assist with the smooth running of artist changeovers and help running the stage to schedule. An element of technical interest would be advantageous here and a certain level of physical activity may be required.

Accreditation & Box Office

As the first point of call for artists, customers and staff, Accreditation and Box Office assistants are for those with an eye for detail and want to be involved with a fast paced and people facing role. In these roles, some of the tasks you will be doing are; meeting and greeting talent, organising and distributing wristbands and facilitating onward on and off site travel.

Campsite Management

Are you approachable and love interacting with customers? In this role, you will be the friendly face of the festival and a source of information for all festival goers. You’ll be based in the campsite and tasks will include; acting as a first point of call for customers and liaising with security, medical and welfare teams.

Management Support Roles

These are generally office based roles with our experienced and dedicated management teams. It is here that you will have the opportunity to learn from and assist these individuals in the day-to-day operations of a large live event. An example of winning attributes here are; spreadsheet savvy, computer literate and keen eye for details.

The Volunteer Scheme

Our volunteers are selected based on their interest in gaining genuine experience working in the events industry. As part of the Eye Of The Storm team, we will provide you with the necessary accreditation (wristbands, stage access etc.) to enable you to fulfil your volunteer role. Where necessary, we will also provide catering should your volunteer role prevent you from sourcing your own food. For some roles, you may be required on site for multiple days. If this is the case, we will endeavour to give you the option to camp in a designated area. Furthermore, we will happily provide you with a reference once the show has finished. Unfortunately, we cannot cover any travel costs, this is inclusive of overseas festivals.

Volunteers are typically required to work three eight-hour shifts. However, this is subject to change depending on the length of the festival. Whilst working with the Eye Of The Storm Team, you should expect a higher level of responsibility than in more casual festival volunteering roles. Flexibility and an interest in learning is key.

If your application is successful, an official offer will come to you via email where you will be directed on how to secure your spot. As part of our scheme, we will require a deposit prior to each show from volunteers which will be returned wholly to you on successful completion of your shifts and adherence to the Volunteer Terms and Conditions. Specific details of this will be sent out if your application is successful.
